General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies and its partners have over 20 years experience providing fixed and
transportable troposcatter solutions for a variety of military and commercial applications. Antennas range from
6 foot (1.8 meter) to 30 foot (9 meter) in diameter and operate in tropo C and tropo Ku-bands. High wind and tower
mounted applications are available, utilizing state-of-the-art VertexRSI RF electronics, including amplifiers,
converters and modems. Troposcatter systems are ideal for first response and emergency communications restoral,
major command centers, mobile command posts, offshore oil industry communications, island to island and in-country
communication links, primary communications infrastructure and more. |

SATCOM Technologies’ newest addition to the troposcatter product line is the Dual-mode, All-band, Relocatable,
Tactical Terminal (DART-T). Using industry-first technologies, this complete troposcatter system outperforms previous
generations with its higher data rates, field-adaptable all-band operation, low weight and reduced prime power usage.
Its patent-pending dual beam Ku-band feed uses angle diversity to achieve very low bit error rate in a small footprint
terminal, replacing previous generations of troposcatter systems which were forced to rely on dual antennas on each
end of the tropo link to achieve the necessary signal diversity. As a result, the number of antennas required for successful
troposcatter operation is halved, freeing up valuable manpower and resources in the field. |
DART-T is designed to allow for field selection of operational mode (troposcatter or satellite communications) in accordance
with mission requirements. Interchangeable feeds are palletized for quick, easy removal and replacement, allowing the end-user to
effectively change operational mode and/or frequency bands in the field within minutes. Thus, each DART-T provides troposcatter operation
in tropo C and tropo Ku-band, as well as satcom operation in C, X, Ku and Ka-band. And existing VertexRSI antennas in the field can be
easily retrofitted for troposcatter operation.
| The new TM-20® Troposcatter Modem, the first 20 Mbps troposcatter modem, is a high-performance, digital, troposcatter modem
utilizing the latest breakthroughs in troposcatter technology. The modem uses patent-pending high-speed decision feedback equalization
to achieve higher data rates over the worst case multipath and fading conditions. |
