Company Delivers 100th Unit to the U.S. Army
 The U.S. Army has approved the designation AN/TSC-185 for General Dynamics’ Satellite Transportable Terminal (STT). The terminals are provided for Increment One of the Warfighter Information Network-Tactical (WIN-T).
The AN/TSC-185 nomenclature ensures that all tests of the unit have been successfully completed, and officially places General Dynamics' terminals in the US Military Arsenal making them available for all approved government customers.
The AN/TSC-185 is an optimized, over-the-horizon communications vehicle ideally suited for tactical communications missions On-the-Quick-Halt. The next-generation trailer offers Ku or Ka-Band operation and incorporates proprietary active compensation tracking techniques that positively track out the effects of wind permitting significant weight reduction and eliminating the need for outriggers for faster setup and teardown. The terminals are produced by General Dynamics' SATCOM Technologies business. SATCOM Technologies recently delivered the 100th unit under a $130 Million contract for Increment One of WIN-T to provide 299 AN/TSC-185 terminals and two Unit Hub SATCOM Trucks (UHST) to the U.S. Army. Increment One of WIN-T is a base plus four option-years contract from the U.S. Army Communications-Electronics Command in Fort Monmouth, N.J. that has a total potential value of $721 million for 1,233 AN/TSC-185 terminals and 44 UHSTs if all options are exercised.
The AN/TSC-185 units are integrated, assembled and tested at SATCOM Technologies' facilities in Kilgore, Texas. The AN/TSC-185 units are being produced at a rate of one-per-day at the Kilgore facility. Click here to see production photos of the AN/TSC-185.
