See the Future of P25 Radio Test Equipment at the International APCO Exposition on August 16th-19th

Less than six months after shipping the world's first and only portable, full-featured communications analyzer for two-way radio, General Dynamics now adds comprehensive APCO Project 25 test capability to the R8000. The R8000 P25 test suite includes:

  • Generate and Receive 0.153 and 1011Hz test patterns
  • BER Tests per TIA/EIA102.CAAA
  • Modulation Fidelity per TIA/EIA102.CAAA
  • Symbol Deviation
  • C4FM Generate per TIA-102.BAAA
  • Power Meter
  • Frequency Error Meter
  • Eye Test Pattern
  • Voice Loop Test

This powerful new P25 test suite provides radio technicians a tool never before available: a P25-equipped analyzer with the capabilities of an expensive bench top instrument in a fully portable (14 lb.) package.

When you add P25 to the unmatched feature set of the R8000, the result is the most extraordinary product ever developed for two-way radio service.

Consider the R8000's set of features:

  • Spectrum analyzer comparable to expensive stand-alone models with a noise floor below -120dBm
  • Power meter accepts up to 150W without the need for external attenuators.
  • Brilliant 8.4" color LCD viewable in all lighting conditions
  • Optional tracking generator for accurate tuning of cavities, duplexer and filters
  • "DualScope" option allows the user to analyze RF carrier and recovered audio signals at the same time
  • Cable fault locator option finds distance to opens and shorts in transmission line
  • All features (generate and receive) operate up to 3GHz
  • MOTOTRBO (DMR) test option
  • Remote control - operate unit from any networked PC via Ethernet port with optional software (available Q4 2009)

And because it is a software-defined analyzer, the R8000 is fully upgradeable and expandable via one of its four USB ports. Firmware upgrades are available from General Dynamics over the web to all R8000 users for the life of the product. So if you purchase an R8000 without P25 now; but next year find that you need to add P25 capability? No problem! Simply order the P25 option and you'll be able to add it to your unit without it ever leaving your facility.
