New digital, narrowband test capabilities enhance the fully-portable, software-defined analyzer

General Dynamics SATCOM Technologies will display the latest enhancements to its revolutionary R8000 Communications System Analyzer at the International Wireless Communications Expo (IWCE) in Las Vegas March 10-12.

The Company’s Communications Test Equipment business will demonstrate an R8000 analyzer equipped with these new test capabilities:

  • NXDN™
  • Expanded DMR/MOTOTRBO™ functionality
  • POCSAG paging

The R8000's NXDN option includes a comprehensive test suite for the NXDN 6.25kHz FDMA digital narrowband protocol. As with its industry-leading APCO P25 test suite, the R8000's NDXN test option includes BER measurement capability, eye diagrams for quick visual signal quality tests, a full battery of parametric tests, and General Dynamics' patented Voice Loopback test.

The R8000's expanded DMR/MOTOTRBO test capability includes:

  • BER tests for the entire range of DMR specified test patterns
  • Ability to generate and decode any specified Color Code
  • Base Station transmission monitor and test capability
  • RF Power and Frequency Error measurements in both digital and analog modes
  • Multiple user interface enhancements

Weighing just 14 pounds, the R8000 is the world's first and only fully portable, software-defined communications analyzer. With the ability to test P25, DMR/MOTOTRBO and NXDN in the same test set, the R8000 is your assurance that you will be able to meet both your immediate needs and the demands of tomorrow's technologies. Only the R8000 provides the power of a bench top instrument in a fully portable package. Consider these additional benefits of the R8000:

  • Spectrum analyzer noise floor below -120dBm, and as low as -140dBm at narrow spans
  • RF power measurements up to 150W WITHOUT the need for an external attenuator
  • Brilliant 8.4" color LCD viewable in all lighting conditions
  • Fully software field-upgradeable. Just add options with via one of the unit's four USB ports
  • Optional DualScope displays both carrier signal and recovered audio on the same screen

The R8000 is truly the future of radio test equipment, here today. Stop by Booth #9097 at IWCE for a personal demonstration of the future of radio communications test equipment.
